Some parents believed that comics can cause their children to neglect their studies and thus they could not study in a proper environment. There are reports on how comics can effect badly on a child’s report card. They do badly in examinations and lose interest in studying all, in the name of comics addiction. Parents are very concerned with this syndrome, leading to them calling to ban comic books for children. However, the comics industry has firmly stated that their comics are meant to be entertainment, and they are not responsible for any addiction to it - though they are concern about the children’s education.

Some children can go extremes and even pretend to be the superheros as depicted in the comic books. This is worrying for the parents as some of their kids are very obsessed with the superheros. However, not all kids are obsessed with the superheros, others are just admiring the superheros. Some others may get inspiration of their own, and create their very own superheros. Undeniably, these kids are doing great as they developed interest in comic characters and at the same time embark on their own career in the comics industry. Most of the parents are proud of their kid’s achievement.

Only a small portion of the children will do badly when they are so addicted to comics, others are well educated enough to distinguish between comics and reality. Still, parents must ensure that the kids are balancing well enough their comic reading, and studying to perform well in the examinations. Comics should not reflect how children are doing badly in their studies but it must be an encouragement to even study hard and achieve better results so they can have a bright future.
